IBC attended Mahidol University's the 2nd International Conference on Buddhism in South-East Asia

(29 August, 2011, SD Avenue Hotel, Bangkok) IBC Rector Prof Charles Willemen and Ven Dr. Dhammanandi, Dean of Liberal Arts and Linguistic Studies, other staff and students participated the 2nd International Conference on Buddhism in South-East Asia organized by the International PhD Programme in Buddhist Studies, Mahidol University.

Scholars from different parts of the world presented their invaluable researches especially in the field of South-East Asian Buddhism. Scholars and participants took part in a depth scholarly discussion and interaction immediately followed by the paper presentation. Dr. Peter Skilling was the keynote speaker in the conference who delivered his speech on the subject of "The Dhamma Studies and Buddhist Studies in Buddhism". The Director of the Buddhist Studies Programme, Dr. Pathompong Bodhiprasiddhinand also presented a paper on the theme of "The Concept of Atman in the RV and two oldest Upanishads".

They have also produced their 2nd journal of their programme under the title "Thai International Journal of Buddhist Studies" which contains depth scholarly research papers.

This participation in the conference by IBC members with the help of the Director of the programme has brought the two institutions closer in their relationship.
