Visit from Mahidol University for Academic Interaction
Professors and Lecturers from Mahidol University, Thailand visited the International Buddhist College held a meeting for academic interaction between the two institutions to collaborate on research and library literature support. Interaction focused on developing skills for students of both institutions in Buddhist Studies.
The visiting Professors and Lecturers were: Asst. Prof. Dr. Pathompong Bodhiprasiddhinand ( Director, An International PhD Programme in Buddhist Studies, Mahidol University), Dr. Sukhumpong Jannuongse (committee), Dr. Mattia Salvini (Committee) and Dr. Giuliano Giustarini (Committee).
Asst. Prof. Dr. Pathompong Bodhiprasiddhinand of Mahidol University extended his great wish for collaboration in developing the study of Buddhism. He invited all IBC's staff to attend "The 2nd International Conference on Buddhism in South-East Asia" on 29 August 2011, organized by The International PhD Programme in Buddhist Studies, Mahidol University.
Ven. Zhen Chan, (the Director of Students Affairs, IBC) extended a warm welcome to the visitors and looked forward to building a strong relationship with ongoing co-operation between the two higher learning institutions on achieving greater academic outcomes.
The attendances of International Buddhist College were: Prof. Dr. Kapila Abhayawansa, (the Dean, Faculty of Religious Studies), Prof. Dr. Tilak Kariyawasam, (the Dean, Graduate School of Buddhist Studies), Ven. Dr. Dhammanandhi, (the Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts), and Dr. Fa Qing (the Director of ICT).
