Chinese New Year 2011 Celebrations

A Chinese New Year party was held at IBC and included the local villagers to celebrate the strength shown in a year of adversity. Ven. Wei Wu, IBC Council Chairman reported that the flood in October last year helped cement the relationship between IBC and the local residents. After the flood, assistance was given to flood disaster victims in the form of Rice, Clean Water and Funds distributed by the IBC Sangha. The Pak Thong Chai community assisted in the clean up of the IBC campus.

The entertainment was provided by the local high school students who delighted everyone attending with their singing, dancing and a drama dealing with environmental pollution.

IBC Sadao main campus hosted a luncheon for around 300 people where Ven. Wei Wu gave a brief report on the performance of IBC for the year ending 2010. Monastic Sangha from Theravada and Mahayana traditions chanted sutras to bless all participates attending.
Entertainment was provided by the IBC Weekend school students who performed a Thai traditional dance followed by a Chinese fan dance. Students from Penang Bodhi Buddhist High school told an ecologic story through dance. Than Hsiang Dharma Singing group also sang some dharma songs.
