Dr. Lozang Jamspal from Columbia University has joined IBC

We are very happy to announce that Dr. Lozang Jamspal has joined the International Buddhist College (IBC) as a regular professor. With his tremendous knowledge and experience he will significantly strengthen the faculty of IBC. Dr. Lozang Jamspal will mainly teach within his fields of speciality (Tibetan Buddhism, Tibetan and Sanskrit). In the upcoming Semester starting on July 9 2012 he gives lectures on Tibetan Buddhism for both the B.A. and M.A. Program:

Dr. Lozang Jamspal received an Acharya degree in Sanskrit, Hindi, and Buddhist and Indian philosophy at Sanskrit University, Benares. At the university, he served as a librarian and Tibetan language instructor, and helped to establish the Central Institute of Tibetan Studies where he later worked as lecturer. He also worked as a lecturer of Sanskrit and classical Tibetan language at the University of Delhi. After moving to the U.S. in 1974, he taught at the Bslab gsum bshad grub gling in New Jersey. In 1991, he earned his Ph.D. from Columbia University, where he taught classical Tibetan.
