International Seminar at the Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU)

The International Buddhist College was invited to present and share the knowledge on the Topic of “The Alternative and Special Education in ASEAN for Poor and Enable People” at the International Seminar of the Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU), Nakhon Ratchasima, August 14, 2013.

The Education Center of Special Education, NRRU had organized its 1st International Seminar on “The Alternative and Special Education in ASEAN for Poor and Enable People”. IBC was given the honor to be the main speaker for presenting and sharing on this topic. Mr. Saengphet Chareonrat, the Director of Special Education Center delivered his welcoming speech and followed by Asst. Prof. Kan Nateklang, the Deputy Dean of Faculty of Education Administration initiated the ceremony by delivering his opening speech and presenting a token of appreciation to IBC. There were about 90 participants who attended the seminar. The participants were lecturers, supporting staff and about 70 B.A. students from the program majoring in Special Education Teaching.

The three speakers representing IBC, namely Prof. Kapila Abhayawansa, Ven. Zhen Chan and Mr Thomas Kyle Fischer with their respective topic presentation as below:

1. An Alternative and Special Education Emphasizing Man and His Society in Building an ASEAN Community.
2. Social Welfare Development in the mission of Building a Strong and Healthy ASEAN Community.
3. The Role of the Religions in Building the ASEAN Community.

IBC staff, Ms Phanommas Chuenchom was also invited to be a translator in the seminar. IBC looks forward to the future academic cooperation with NRRU.
