IBC Celebrates Magha Puja Day

Māgha Pūjā is one of the most meaningful days among the Buddhist community. It is celebrated on the full moon day in the Māgha month of the lunar calendar (normally falls in February). The Buddha delivered Ovādapātimokkha, to his disciples for the first time nine month after his enlightenment, namely not to do any evil, to do good, and to purify the mind.

To commemorate the event and worship to the Buddha, in Māgha Pūjā B.E. 2556, the International Buddhist College celebrated the Magha Puja in cooperation with Pakthongchai community. The celebration included a blessing ceremony, offerings to the Monastic Sangha, a Lamp lighting ceremony, community service activities, and a vegetarian meal.

Beside the mentioned activities, there were many stage performances such as the singing of IBC song “for the good of the many” by the IBC community, drama performance by the IBC weekend school students and Thai traditional dance.

Our sincere thanks to all the lecturers, staff, students for their mutual support in various ways. Last but not least our sincere thanks to local community especially to Khun Somchai Chulaphan from Chue Ai Dhamma Institute for his kind generosity to sponsor countless resources.
