Meditation Class starts on 07/02/16 (Sunday)

Dear Professors, Lecturers, Staff and Students,

Please be informed that IBC Student Club will organise a Meditation Class which will start on 07/02/16 (Sunday). The class will be going on every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month (10am - 10.45am) at Chanting Hall.

Our MA1 student, Ven. Kundala will be the instructor. All of you are cordially invited to join the class if you are interested.

Venerable Kundala and His Experience of Meditation
After passing tenth standard exam, Venerable Kundala started his first meditation retreat in Mogyok Vipassana Centre. He used to go under the shade of Mogyok Vipassana Centre without enjoying in Myanmar New Year Festival as a young person. Occasionally, he joins meditation retreat every year and during vassa. Before ordaining as a monk, he used to be a temporary monk (Dullabha) and to practice meditation. Then, he entered the monkhood in 2009.

Venerable Kundala attended the Buddhist University and after two Vassa, started to preach Vipassana teaching. At his third rains retreat (Vassa), he established the Vipassana Meditation Center together with his friends and instructed Vipassana meditation to lay people on every long vacation of the Myanmar New Year. As progress, he extended his retreats in December holidays to any invited villages.

During the last December holidays, he went back to Myanmar to instruct retreats on Vipassana Meditation in Moneyar, near Mandalay. He practices according to the methods of Mogyok, Mahasi and Theinngu. After accomplishing his teachings in the meditation centers, he used to practice by himself in the forest.

Venerable Kundala often listens to the Dhamma preached by Mogyok Sayadaw. At the same time, he attended his B.A in Mandalay Buddhist University. He graduated with Bachelor of Science (Physics) and achieved Abhidhammadara after completing a three-year Advanced Abhidhamma diploma. At present, he is studying at International Buddhist College as an M.A student.
