A Report on IBC Songkhla Trip on October 5, 2019 by Tshering Penjor

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to coordinator, Ven Zhen Yuan and other staffs who assisted and cared for us. It was a great time to gather together with other students and staffs and visit those beautiful places. Actually, I was little sick that morning and I was about to come back to college but my friends encouraged me to join the trip. Wow! It was such a great time and very nice to visit the National Songkhla Museum.
The meditation center was one of my favorite places to visit because I have similar meditation center in my monastery too. I experienced some spiritual serene atmosphere and energy yesterday when we were visiting that place. We also had very delicious lunch there which was arranged by the kind-hearted staffs of IBC.
Riding the ferry was one of my first-time experiences in my life so far. It was a great experience.
Lastly, we visited the zoo and saw many different kinds of animals but I would suggest that it’s not really good for Buddhist practitioners to see the animals being caged without freedom. We could see the tigers waiting for their food and the zoo care takers had shown to the audience that the tigers were actually like prisoners. Next time, if possible, zoo is not really a good place to visit for monks and nuns. I felt very pitiful for those animals.
Overall, I had my best day yesterday and will look forward to see these kinds of days ahead as well. Thank you very much to the organizers and all kind staffs.
Thank you
