IBC Mitra Vegan Meal Boxes Project

Reported by Ven. Zhen Yuan

The COVID-19 pandemic sparked a new concern for us to reflect and think deeply about self-care and responsibility for others in our lives. It has created an opportunity to think deeply about how to live a balanced life in this new era.
Many people have been affected due to the economic slowdown. However, some people can give a helping hand to those in need, likewise: the IBC Founder Ven. Dr. Wei Wu, with his leadership, founded the Mitra Vegan Meal Boxes Project, which encourages us to reach out to society by offering vegan meal boxes to those who need them.
In Thailand, with the help from our kitchen and students in the Sadao campus, we have also provided vegan meal boxes to the Sadao Hospital and Padang Besar Hospital.
In Korat campus, Ven. Dr. Zhen Chan with help from the kitchen and members provided vegan meal boxes to Maharaj Nakhon Ratchasima Central Hospital and Pak Thong Chai Hospital.
In Malaysia, the Than Hsiang Temple has provided vegan meal boxes, medical equipment, and tools to the hospitals.
As Buddhists, we are very fortunate that we have been taught to meditate and understand the Four Noble Truths taught by the Buddha. Moreover, as we have been trained to live a simple life, looking after only our basic needs, we are not affected much by the slow economic growth.
Finally, with the blessing of the Triple Gem, IBC can carry on and conduct her classes on-campus and online smoothly. We hope more people can join us in this extensive family learning and practicing the Buddhadharma together.
