Trip to Wat Tham Khao Rup Chang

On 2-2-2022, the day of five twos was a fantastic day for us to visit Wat Tham Khao Rup Chang at Padang Besar near the Thailand and Malaysia border. IBC faculty members, staff and students Ven. Dr. Zhen Chan, Ven. Rahula, Ven. Saksith, Ven. Qi Feng, Ven. Pu Jue, Ven. Qing Xin, Ven. Zhong Yan, Ven. Xing Hui, Ven. Le Thi Ngor, Ven. Zhen Yuan, Ms. Aod, Ms. Samiksha, She Teng Yuan and Mr. Khoo, together took off at 9.00 am for our visit.
The Wat Tham Khao Rup Chang has a mixture of Theravada and Chinese Buddhist traditions. The shape of the Stupas on the Temple's rooftop looks like the stupa in Bodhgaya, India. This visit is not only to gain extra exploration of the different Buddhist traditions and cultural aspects. It also means a pilgrimage to me! I love the environment; it seems so peaceful and tranquil, the wind is dancing around at the Guan Yin cave, making the atmosphere extraordinary.
Vegetarian lunch was served at 11.00 am, and it is not served only to our members, but also to the public who wish to have a vegetarian meal. Although I’ve visited this temple several times, I believe many more exciting things are waiting to be explored. I hope we can bring more of our students to visit this temple in the future.
