Perform ‘Rains Retreat’ by Traditional Chinese Buddhists
In IBC, the traditional Chinese Buddhists began their annual three-month monastic retreat, the ‘Rains Retreat’, on 27th May 2021 (the day right after the Wesak day) and ended the event on 21st August 2021.
On that Dhamma auspicious day, members who have participated in this ‘Rains Retreat’ gathered together at the Chinese Chanting Hall to discuss what one has made and heard. After the reflection and repentance, activities such as Noon Offering and chanting were performed—the team members too dedicated merits to COVID-19 patients for a speedy recovery from this infectious disease.
I love to eat Mon Tong durians! Team members have prepared special Sticky Rice with durians (Khao Niao Thu Lien) for lunch and offered the food to all members of IBC. Most of the students enjoyed the pungent taste and smell of the durians. Some new students from foreign countries took their courage to give it a try on this King of the Fruits of Thailand.
