Lunch Dāna cum Dr. Krishna’s Retirement
Reported by: Yang Xueqin, BA1 student
On 15th November 2024, the International Buddhist College (IBC) had a lunch Dāna in conjuction with Dr. Krishna’s retirement.
IBC extends its heartfelt thanks to lunch dāna donors from Malaysian Buddha’s disciples for their kind support and generosity. We also would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest appreciation to Dr. Krishna for her dedication and contribution to IBC all these years. Dr. Krishna has served in IBC for almost 16 years before she decided to retire from her teaching job this year. Dr. Krishna is a responsible, caring and an easy-going person with positive minded.
Dr. Krishna is our English teacher this semester, and it is our honour to be part of her final class at International Buddhist College (IBC). Dr. Krishna has been more than just a teacher to us; she has been a guide, a friend, and a family member who cares deeply about each of us. She takes the time to notice each of our faces during class and pays attention to how we all respond. We have always felt comfortable with her teaching style.
Over the time we’ve spent together, Dr. Krishna has shared not only her knowledge of the English language, but also her interesting experiences, patience, wisdom, and passion for learning.
As Dr. Krishna has guided us, we will do our best to continue studying and pursue our learning goals to the fullest. As she said, there should be no sadness or shock over her departure, as she is embarking on a new chapter in her life, and we still have many things to accomplish. Although she has retired from IBC, she hopes we will always stay in touch. At IBC, we are a big family, and therefore, there is no real goodbye between family members.
We will always cherish the memories we’ve made with Dr. Krishna and are deeply grateful for her presence in our lives.
A big thank you, Dr. Krishna, for everything you have done for IBC and us. May the blessings of the Triple Gem be with you, the donors and their families always; may all of you be well, healthy and happy; and may you all continue to progress in your practice.
