English Writing Weekend Class

Reported by: Hnin Yu Hlaing, BA4 student

The purpose of the essay writing program was to improve students' writing skills. Classes for this program were scheduled from January 4, 2025 until February 9, 2025. Sessions were held either in the morning or in the afternoon. Students were expected to bring the necessary resources to every lesson to facilitate a comprehensive education that integrates digital communication with practical lessons.

During the program, students were introduced to various writing styles, including research-based methods and structured writing techniques. Additionally, video resources were used to enhance instruction and provide visual representations of writing concepts. The classroom fostered a collaborative learning environment by encouraging communication and interaction between the teachers and students, as well as among the students.

Students evaluated ways to improve their writing and reflected on their development. We recognized the importance of effectively structuring essays by conducting appropriate research and refining our writing techniques for better organization and clarity.

Last but not least, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to International Buddhist College for arranging this program for us. Besides that, my deepest appreciation to Mr. Ong Beng Chung for his dedication and guidance throughout the program. His expertise and support have significantly enhanced our ability to write and communicate in English. The skills we gained from this program will be invaluable both during and beyond our academic careers.
