A Simple Yet Meaningful Trip
Reported by: Nayani Bag, MA1 student
The International Buddhist College (IBC) organized an outing trip for us on January 17, 2026, to several nearby attractions, including Tone Nga Chang Waterfall, Wat Laem Pho, Songkhla Lake, and Kim Yong Market in Hat Yai. The main objectives of this trip were relaxation, enjoying nature, and strengthening friendship among students.
We began our journey in the morning and arrived at Tone Nga Chang Waterfall at around 10:30 a.m. The natural beauty of the waterfall, together with the soothing sound of flowing water, created a calm and refreshing atmosphere. Some students enjoyed playing in the water, while others took the opportunity to explore the surrounding scenery. We also took photographs to capture the memorable moments. In addition, we shared food and snacks together, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
After lunch, we travelled to Wat Laem Pho on Koh Yor, an island in Songkhla Lake. This temple is well known for its striking white chedi and panoramic views of the lake. We explored the temple grounds, observed the intricate architectural details, and enjoyed the peaceful ambiance. The harmonious combination of a spiritual atmosphere and scenic lake views made it an ideal place for reflection.
After visiting Wat Laem Pho, we continued our journey to Hat Yai city and visited Kim Yong Market. Kim Yong Market is one of the most famous markets in Hat Yai, well known for its wide variety of food, dried fruits, snacks, and souvenirs. We enjoyed shopping and bought gifts for our friends. The lively atmosphere and crowded market area made the trip exciting and memorable.
Last but not least, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the International Buddhist College for organizing this simple yet meaningful trip. We would also like to thank all those who supported us directly or indirectly for this trip. It was an enjoyable and memorable experience for all of us, filled with happiness and a harmonious atmosphere. We sincerely hope that IBC will continue to organize such trips for us in the future.
Thank you.
