A Visit by Alumni of Chung Ling High School, Penang, Malaysia
On April 9, 2026, we were delighted to welcome a group of 70 alumni from Chung Ling High School to the International Buddhist College (IBC).
Led by Mr. Leong Kok Hing and Mr. Tan Kok Ann, former classmates and close friends of our founder, Ven. Dr. Wei Wu (Shifu), the group has long been a pillar of support for IBC through their generous financial, social, and emotional contributions.
The visit began with a warm welcome by Ven. Zhen Sheng, followed by an introduction to IBC’s faculty and staff. He shared Shifu’s vision of establishing IBC in Thailand - to plant seeds of Buddhist learning that will bear fruit when conditions are right, ensuring the future flourishing of the Dhamma.
Mr. Leong Kok Hing, former Assistant Rector of IBC, reflected on the college’s history and praised Shifu’s unwavering determination in building a Buddhist institution abroad. He also encouraged fellow alumni to continue supporting IBC’s mission.
During the interaction session, participants showed a keen interest in Buddhist studies, raising thoughtful and academically engaging questions. In addition, while sharing her insights, Ven. Dr. Zhen Yuan emphasized the importance of putting the Buddha’s teachings into practice. She noted that while academic excellence is valuable, the true benefit arises when we apply the Dhamma in our daily lives, thereby bringing a positive impact to those around us.
The visit concluded with a campus tour, a group photo at the auditorium hall, and light refreshments before their departure.
We are deeply grateful for their visit and ongoing support. May this connection continue to grow, bringing more opportunities for learning, sharing, and cultivating wisdom together.
Thank you, and may the blessings of the Triple Gem be with all of us.
