On 23rd May 2026, Than Hsiang Temple, Penang was honoured to host a public lecture by Dr. Ooi Eng Jin, Dean of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies of International Buddhist College (IBC), Thailand.
Drawing on his expertise in Pali and Sanskrit textual studies and early Buddhist archaeology in Southeast Asia, Dr. Ooi shed light on the ancient civilization of Kedah Tua and the epigraphic evidence that attests to its rich Buddhist heritage.
