English Language Certificate Course

Earn an English Language credential while securing your pathway to a Bachelor of Arts in Buddhist Studies at the International Buddhist College (IBC). Designed for beginners, this 6-month programme prepares you for the IBC admission interviews and helps you to acquire the necessary language and academic skills for the undergraduate course. For students who wish to progress further in English, you can also enrol in this course to improve your English as a Foreign Language (EFL).

Successful applicants can look forward to interactive learning activities and targeted practice in reading, listening, grammar paragraph writing and basic Buddhist terminology. As part of the student-centred approach, you will also learn skills in collaborative learning and academic discussion. You will rapidly build the confidence needed for functional language use as living on the IBC campus will give you the opportunity to interact with students from different cultures. To enrich students’ experiences, service-learning activities will also feature as part of the course.
